Val Kremser of Box Turtle Press spends her days restoring books, and preserving information for the ages. In her free time she churns out adorable miniature hand bound book necklaces, earrings made of recycled paper, diminutive tins for stashing tiny gifts, postcards with vintage romance, artist prints. If you are very, very nice she may even restore your much neglected antique book collection!

Waldseemüller-Globus
February 12, 2011
day 12. I cut out, colored and assembled a photocopy of Waldseemüller-Globus into a real globe….or close to a real globe.
"America" appears for the first time in 1507 on the world map of Waldseemüller, on his terrestrial globe and in the associated "Cosmographiae Introductio" (Introduction to a Description of the World) by Ringmann and Waldseemüller.

Book a Week
FAIL!
I just couldn’t pull off a book every week in 2009. Too many other projects and events to deal with.
I did make a bunch of books, and experimented a bit with materials. So it wasn’t a complete waste of time.
So f0r 2010….a new book arts project. All my old books are editioned.
So planning begins for the Uninvited Guest.

this is the book i made for my cousin’s wedding.
it is beach themed, so i used a nice off white book cloth and made marbled paper using off white, perwinkle(her wedding color), and some shades of blue to accent.
nice and simple.
